Experience has taught us that a team approach is the most effective method to handle each case. Each member of our team plays an important role that fits into the overall plan to resolve every case. We utilize an efficient and cost-effective system to distribute duties to the team member best equipped to perform a task at the least expense to the client. All work is supervised by Melissa Brown.

Katie Perkins Download Katie’s vCardKatie is an Associate with the firm. She was admitted to the South Carolina Bar and received her J.D. from the Charleston School of Law in 2009. Katie joined our team in May 2008 as a Law Clerk while in law school and rejoined the firm as an attorney in August 2009. Originally from Litchfield County, Connecticut, Katie graduated from Westover School in 2001 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the College of Charleston in 2005. Katie gained additional legal experience as an Ackerman Fellow for Charleston County Pro Bono Legal Services and as a Summer Law Clerk at Charleston County Probate Court. While in law school, she served as Secretary of the Student Bar Association from 2007-2008. She earned various honors for her academic performance including the CALI Award for Pleadings and Practice and Dean’s List status. Katie is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, the Charleston County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Charleston Lawyers Club and Charleston Young Professionals. |

She graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology. She is a member of the National Association of Legal Assistants, Inc., and a registered Notary Public. |  |

Elizabeth Benedict Download Elizabeth’s vCardElizabeth joined our team in February 2008 as a Legal Assistant. She handles office administration and marketing for the firm as well as all initial contacts with potential clients. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Elizabeth graduated from the College of Charleston in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History. She is a registered Notary Public. |

Download Ashley’s vCardAshley is a Certified Public Accountant and our Bookkeeper. She is an independent contractor and owns her own business, Saltwater Financial Services, LLC. Ashley handles all client billing, manages the firm’s accounting, and is the billing contact for each client. |
